Recently, Maanshan Power Supply Company successfully replaced two mineral oil transformers of 10 kV Yu-Jin 6407 line located in Hudong Road in the city with new vegetable oil transformers. This is the first vegetable oil-based distribution transformer put into operation in our province.

It is understood that most of the transformer insulating oil used in China's power system is mineral insulating oil, which is a non-renewable petroleum resource with a low ignition point, which is difficult to meet the ever-increasing requirements for high fire safety. Ma On Shan Power Supply Company put into operation the vegetable oil insulation transformer for the new distribution transformers, insulating oil from natural crops, is a high flash point, environmentally friendly, renewable liquid insulation medium, the ignition point is higher than 300 ℃, the natural degradation rate of 90 %the above. In the increasingly scarce oil resources, plant insulation oil has become a green substitute for mineral insulating oil.

At present, Maanshan Power Supply Company has specially formulated the operation condition monitoring plan for the newly installed vegetable oil insulated distribution transformers, and will share relevant information with equipment manufacturers to prepare for the promotion of such green transformers.
