Computer model helps develop new magnetic materials
Magnetic materials are extremely hard to find. They are rare in nature, creating a common magnetic material in the laboratory through extensive experimentation and a little bit of luck. Duke University has found a way to take a course: its researchers have used computer models to help generate two new magnetic materials. How stable are they? Do they have a "magnetic moment" that determines the intensity of the reaction to the external magnetic field? This styling can help reduce the time needed to build magnetic materials for many years, and this may lead to discoveries that have not been made before reality. One effort from Duke University, a mixture of cobalt, magnesium, and titanium, produced a material that was even magnetic at extremely high temperatures, and it stopped working before it might require more testing. In addition, the mixture of manganese, palladium and platinum is unusual. It does not have its own magnetic moment but the external magnetic field reacts. Instead, to find any type of magnetism, scientists can focus on developing magnets for specific applications.
