Manzhouli Port surges in exports of passenger car trucks to Russia and Mongolia in 2010
In 2010, the Manchurian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau accepted a total of 666 inspection vehicles for export cars with a value of 12.817 million US dollars, an increase of 243.3% and 333.3% respectively year-on-year. Among them, 94 were passenger cars, with a value of 4.416 million U.S. dollars, 178 cars with a value of 1.486 million U.S. dollars, 387 trucks with a value of 6.58 million U.S. dollars, and 7 special vehicles with a value of 335,000 U.S. dollars. The automobile exports to Russia 655, accounts for 98%, exports to Mongolia 11 vehicles. The average export price per truck is US$19,200, which is higher than the national average, mainly due to the relatively high unit prices of passenger cars and trucks.
The major reasons for the surge in automobile exports at the Manzhouli port in 2010 were: First, experienced recovery after the economic crisis. With the gradual recovery of the Russian domestic economy, the demand for the automotive market, especially for commercial vehicles, has increased rapidly. Second, China’s own brands The technological level, overall quality, and manufacturing process of automotive companies have greatly improved in the past two years. They can fully meet the requirements of Russia for the quality certification of imported automobiles, and have overcome the technical trade barriers imposed by Russia on imported automobiles.
Although the growth of auto exports at the Manzhouli port in 2010 is relatively fast, there is still a big gap compared with the peak period of automobile exports before 2008. Therefore, there is still much room for growth in the coming years, as the gradual recovery of the Russian economy and With the continuous improvement of the quality of domestic vehicles, it is expected that the export of cars at Manchuria Port will continue to maintain its growth momentum.
