Internal fuel oil products fail to meet the standard, China Automobile Association proposes to temporarily suspend the implementation of national IV emission standards

In view of the fact that domestic fuel quality is still not fully up to standard, China still does not have the conditions to implement the national IV motor vehicle emission standards nationwide. The China Automobile Industry Association said in a report to the Ministry of Environmental Protection in mid-November.

The China Automotive Industry Association submitted this report as a reply to the Ministry of Environmental Protection's public comment on the implementation date of the National IV emission standard in February this year. According to the original plan of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the National IV emission standard will be implemented nationwide for heavy trucks in January next year, and passenger cars will implement the new standard in July next year.

The China Automobile Association also publishes its "Report on the Implementation Date of the State IV Emission Standard" submitted to the Ministry of Environmental Protection on its website. “On the one hand, the current fuel quality cannot guarantee the implementation of the National IV emission standards; on the other hand, if the oil products are not in place, the adoption of advanced emission technologies by vehicles will cause problems such as rapid emission degradation and reduced product durability.” The industry association said in the report.

In China, only Beijing and Shanghai have implemented the National IV emission standards in July 2008 and November this year. Other regions are still implementing State III standards.

For this reason, in the open report, the China Automobile Association has suggested that instead of hurriedly introducing new emission standards under immature conditions, it is better to first ensure that National III emission standards are implemented nationwide.
