On January 8, Nanjing Iveco's high-end light truck “Transcendence†was formally launched globally. This means that Nanjing Iveco has officially completed the construction of the light truck matrix and formed a complete light truck product system covering high-end, mid-end, and low-end.
Zhou Liang, general manager of Nanjing Iveco, believes that the domestic light truck industry is currently in a period of adjustment. Although China has become the world’s largest automobile producer, exports are ranked lower, and overseas markets are limited to developing countries. Nanjing Iveco's breakthrough in high-end light trucks is conducive to providing reference for many car companies out of this dilemma.
Recently, Nanjing Iveco has signed the first batch of strategic cooperation agreements with overseas distributors in Europe, the United States, Asia, and Africa, and the latter has ordered 2,000 units of the “Beyond†series. At present, the goal of Nanjing Iveco's first phase is that the export of its own platform will account for 25% of annual sales.

This time the listed "beyond" series, subdivided into narrow body, medium body, wide body three series, the guide price of 9.68-11.8 million.
According to reports, the “Beyond†series uses a high-performance, low-emission power combination made up of a multi-technology platform lightweight diesel engine developed and matched by Fiat Power Technologies of Italy and a transmission produced by ZF.
A person from Nanjing Iveco stated that “Beyond†is the representative product of the third stage of research and development in the R&D trilogy after the South Cooperation. It is positioned as a high-end light truck technology platform that meets the high-end logistics and special needs of the future cities in order to achieve domestic and international The simultaneous development of the two markets. It is reported that Guangdong Province will become an "exceeding" important market and will carry 25% of its sales tasks.
"The price of high-end light trucks is about 30,000 yuan more than that of ordinary light trucks. However, from the perspective of the entire life cycle, the cost of using high-end light trucks is lower than that of ordinary light trucks." The above-mentioned sources stated that "general light trucks are due to faults, reliability, etc." The attendance rate is even lower, while the high-end light truck has a low failure rate, high reliability, and a higher price/performance ratio."
"Although from the design and development to the product off-line investment, but the vitality of the product can be maintained for at least 10 years." Zhou Liang said.
Zhou Liang believes that with the “transcendence†of European genes, its thicker body and higher technological content will undoubtedly break the pattern of Japanese products in the domestic high-end light truck market.
Ni Feng, Deputy General Manager of Nanjing Iveco, believes that the high end of commercial vehicle products will repeat the path of passenger vehicles. High-end commercial vehicles have obviously improved in 2012. "Overtaking" listing is also in line with the needs of market development.
SAIC Business Platform
According to data from SAIC, its subsidiary Nanjing Iveco sold 9,692 vehicles in December last year, an increase of 22.67% year-on-year, and annual sales of 132,200 vehicles, an increase of 15.98% year-on-year.
Ni Feng said that during the “12th Five-Year Plan†period, SAIC Group continued to develop its passenger vehicle business steadily, and more importantly, it sought a breakthrough in commercial vehicles.
It is understood that during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, nearly 60% of SAIC's commercial vehicle sales will be completed by Nanjing Iveco, and "Beyond" and other leap-forward products will become an important pawn in the layout of the commercial vehicle market with an annual sales target of 250,000 vehicles.
The self-owned brands experienced ups and downs in 2012, and the joint venture autonomy also triggered many disputes. Against this backdrop, Nanjing Iveco's commercial vehicles have grown against the trend in 2012.
According to Zhou Liang, in 2012 both the company's leap forward and Iveco's brands have developed rapidly, especially the Yuejin brand, with a year-on-year increase of more than 23%. The company's net profit exceeds RMB 300 million.
For the 2013 target, Zhou Liang said that it was initially set at 155,000, of which 110,000 were leapt and 45,000 were Iveco.
Shortly after “beyond†the deadline of last October, Nanjing Iveco signed the first batch of strategic cooperation agreements with overseas distributors from four continents: Europe, the United States, Asia, and Africa, with nearly 2,000 overseas orders. Zhou Liang said that in 2013 the company's sales target for “Beyond†was set at 5,000 units.
Although the first stage goal is to export 25% of annual sales, Zhou Liang admits that a successful international company should account for 40% of exports.
