Huimen Powertrain's innovative DEVA bearing material helps reduce marine pollution

On November 16, 2017, the Federal-Mogul Powertrain of Friedberg Wilhelmshafen in Germany supplied DEVA bearings to the global shipbuilding industry to reduce the environmental impact of propeller lubricants. At the China International Maritime Exhibition to be held at the Pudong New International Exhibition Center in Shanghai from December 5th to 8th, 2017, the Huimen Powertrain DEVA will exhibit a series of bearing technologies for ships. The company booth is located at booth K51 in Hall N2.

Today's most efficient propellers use adjustable pitch blades that move relative to the hub and continuously optimize the blade angle for energy savings. In areas where regulations strictly limit the use of lubricants, the mounting point of the propeller requires a low-wear bearing surface. The Huimen Powertrain deva.bm self-lubricating bearing material provides an environmentally sound and long-term solution for this, reducing downtime and extending overhaul intervals.

“Feimen Powertrain has been working closely with its customers to reduce environmental impact and improve customer performance,” said Gian Maria Olivetti, Chief Technology Officer, Federal-Mogul Powertrain. “Through the adjustable pitch propeller ( Using deva.bm self-lubricating bearing materials in CPP), our customers are able to achieve the most efficient propeller design to reduce CO2 emissions while avoiding contamination problems caused by lubricant leaks."

General Ship License (VGP) 2013 Environmental regulations restrict the use of lubricants in locations where seawater is accessible. Although biodegradable oil is less subject to strict controls, it is not an effective solution for all adjustable pitch propeller applications. Deva.bm is a self-lubricating composite bearing material made from a seawater resistant stainless steel substrate and a deva.me sliding layer through a special sintering process. Bearings can be operated in dry conditions as well as water as a lubricant, and because of their high static and dynamic load carrying capacity, they are ideal for use with adjustable pitch propellers. This solution has been adopted and used by many leading European companies.

“The deva.bm technology is suitable for rotation, oscillating and straight lines – even fretting,” explains Hubert Hilp, Wahamen Powertrain DEVA Marine and Marine Applications Manager. “Because this technology requires no lubricant, it is maintenance-free. Not only that, but with low or similar static and dynamic coefficients of friction, the technology increases efficiency and reduces the likelihood of viscous slip."

Inflatable Arm Floats

The inflatable arm floats refers to the two inflatable air circles on the arm, but because the volume of the floating sleeves is small and the pressure it bear is relatively large, the buoyancy is relatively small, so it is only suitable for children. Moreover, when using floating sleeves to learn backstroke, the opponent will have a great impact.

Both inflatable arm floats are available and children can be used, and they can also customize colors, patterns and shapes. The inflatable Pool Floats of P&D are all high-quality PVC, which will not leak air or explode, and can better ensure the safety of users.
