China to undertake the construction of Daban Hydropower Station in Cambodia's Gegong territory

China National Heavy Machinery Corporation recently signed an agreement with the Cambodian government in Phnom Penh for the construction of the Daban hydropower station in Cambodia's Koh Kong province through BOT (construction, operation, transfer).
According to reports, the hydropower station is located in Dalai River with an installed capacity of 246 MW. It plans to install three 82-MW Francis turbine units with an annual power generation of 849 million kWh. This is the Chinese company's investment in Cambodia so far. The biggest project.
China Heavy Machinery will invest 540 million U.S. dollars, use power plants for 5 years, and then operate for 37 years. The energy produced will be sold to the Cambodian power sector.
After one and a half years of investigations and feasibility studies, the project was formally approved by the Cambodian government on June 13th. Its purpose is to make full use of Cambodia’s advantages in hydropower resources to help Cambodia expand its power source.
