Japanese textile machinery industry has a strong interest in the Indonesian market

After many years of tempering, Japan’s textile industry has occupied a certain position in the international market. Among them, the development of the textile machinery industry is also getting faster and faster, and it gradually expands.

Ade Sudrajat, president of the Indonesian Textile Association (APE), said: “Japanese textile machinery manufacturers stated that they have a strong interest in investing in Indonesia.”

“About 20 companies are planning to establish machinery factories in Indonesia. These companies include textile machinery manufacturers in the entire textile value chain,” he added.

"However, before the plant was built, these investors were seeking government incentives and good infrastructure," he said.

Indonesia is currently upgrading its textile industry by investing in technologically advanced machines. The government provides a number of subsidies for this purpose.

One expert said: “But the main stumbling block is that the prices of Japanese textile machinery are much higher than those of other manufacturing countries, such as China and Taiwan.”

He added that although Japan's machines are of better quality, they are over 40% more expensive than Chinese machines.

"Japanese textile machinery manufacturers must reduce their prices, otherwise, the textile industry will tend to buy machines in China and other countries," he said finally.
