Demolition of 44 coal-fired boilers in Yongning, Ningxia

Yongning County, Yinchuan City, Ningxia Autonomous Region combined “Five City Tongchuang” (a county-level civilized city, a national health county, a national garden county, a national ecological county, and a national cultural advanced county) with the improvement of the regional ecological environment, and paid close attention to pollution reduction. The project reduced the emission intensity of pollutants and successively demolished 44 coal-fired boilers.

According to reports, three pollution reduction projects in Yongning County in 2015 have been implemented. Up to now, the implementation plan of the boiler dust removal and desulphurization project in the urban heating center has passed the expert review and related bidding and tendering issues are in progress. The civil works for the water reuse project of Yongning County No. 1 WWTP have all been completed and equipment installation is being carried out. The EIA report of the 40,000 tons sewage treatment expansion project of Yongning County No. 2 WWTP has also been submitted to the experts for review.

In recent years, the Yongning County Environmental Protection Agency has completed 7 key national emission reduction projects, 7 key emission reduction projects in the autonomous region, and 19 key emission reduction projects in Yinchuan City, and successively strived for more than RMB 12 million in emission reduction funds.

At the same time, Yongning County vigorously implemented the Blue Sky Project, promoted pollution prevention of coal-fired boilers, and demolished coal-fired boilers of enterprises and parks in Ningxia Bauhinia Paper Co., Ltd., Ningxia Qiyuan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Ningxia Yipin Bio-Tech Co., Ltd. station. Implementation of dust pollution prevention and control projects, and urge all key enterprises to install windshield walls on coal, stockpiles and slag heaps. The Environmental Protection Department joint construction department and the management committee of the Wangyuan Industrial Park and townships and villages will strengthen construction site management, demolition site and construction site dust management. The air pollution prevention and control project was implemented, strict environmental access thresholds were established, a negative list of investment promotion and environmental protection was formulated, and it was clearly stipulated that 29 high-pollution, high-energy-consuming and high-emission enterprises could not enter the park.
